For the fifth time already in Torun there was a gathering of fantasy fans. The "Zahcon" Convent lasted from Friday till Sunday , took place in fort IV and gathered over 300 people. Every meeting in the series was organized in a different conventionand with own motto. During the first one, in 2000, held in the armosphere of the end of XIX century , one could feel like a member of Prussian military squad stationing for training. Next, in 2001, transformed the fort into a Teutonic fortress , only to look for the Great Teutonic Master's dragons in dungeons of fort IV during the next year's convent. In 2003 despite many obstacles , convent finally took place and the result was surprisingly good. It was kept in an postapocalyptic atmosphere . Althuogh, there were no victims, stirring impressions and variety of attractions left positiveand durable , after effects ;-)

"Zahcon" 2004 moved participants out in the space. In station IV (fort IV) attractions were directed not only to "hard SF" amateurs. The organizers tried to cover up the needs of even most demanding fantasy fans. Among famous guests invited to the convent, there were Maja Lidia Kossakowska , Andrzej Ziemianski, Andrzej Pilipiuk, Jacek Dukaj ,Marcin Mortka, Tomasz Pacynski and Jaroslaw Grzedowicz. Apart from tournaments, competitions and lectures one could take part in many different LARP's (Live Action Role Play, which are drama-like sessions played by volunteers and a leader), sessions of board , battle, card and strategic games.

After a day full of atractions, it one could rest walking to every nook of the fort, watching famous films , laughing at the worst video clips show or having a snack at the bonfire outside. For those, who thick walls did not manage to fence off from consument greedy world desires , there were stalls with a rich publishing offer. Equipped with manuals, gadgets used in games and all sorts of fantasy amateus's "musts", they can already start preparing for the next year's convent. Do not miss it in 2005 !
